Whacky Mickey Gundam!!!~
Monday, May 29, 2006

Haha... I guess I must have been either too free or crazy enough to have put aside my projects and done up this Mickey Gundam. I 1st saw the 2D drawing of it as posted by a friend in a forum. I think that the general public might look at it as a distasteful thing... but to me, it's quite a creative approach by whomever that have drawn that 2D picture. At least it's properly drawn in a tasteful manner... lol. In case anyone wondering how the original 2D drawing looks like, I shall include it here... although I don't know who to credit it to. Please let me know if anyone knew who the artist is, thanks.

It also came to my attention that this artist took the exact rendition from this japanese modeller's Destiny Gundam. The last picture has the Destiny Gundam in the exact same pose as the 2D drawing here... so there is a possibility that this drawing was traced off... or this drawing was actually from that japanese modeller himself. Anyway, I think that is not really my concern... lol.

I was kinda inspired by this 2D drawing the moment I saw it. So I went out the next day to purchase a HG1/144 Destiny Gundam, thinking of building a model-kit version of this rendition of colors... in which I didn't follow exactly, I didn't even spend time to scratch-build the Pooh Sword and the Donald Cannon... guess I figured it isn't worth the extra time as I only meant to build this Mickey Gundam for fun. There was actually a model-kit version of this already but it was built "distastefully"... lol. Whomever did that just build-up the kit, spray it in colors with neither panel-lining nor the details from the 2D drawing.... but surprisingly he scratch-builded the Pooh Sword and the Donald Cannon... haha. Ok... 1 look tells it all.

Note: This is not my model

I was kinda bored out after I knew there was already a model-kit built for this Mickey Gundam(I do not like doing things that others have done before)... and the worst part is that I only knew it after I have bought the HG1/144 Destiny Gundam. Luckily I still have the mood to do it after seeing how the model-kit of this guy turnout to be.

My version can be viewed in this gallery. The silvering particles as seen is the Gun Metal dustings from the panel-lines. Don't know why I did some crazy "street-fighter-shooting-fireball" poses with it... haha. I also find the wing-backpack of Mickey Gundam looks like a standalone winged robot as seen from the pictures I took. Anyway, do enjoy the pictures. =)

Remington M700 Sniper Rifle
Tuesday, May 16, 2006

Guns n' Swords have always been my interest since childhood and I would really love to collect them, either life-size replicas or scale-models. Recently, I happen to discover 2 sets of 1/6 Gun Collection Series with a list of 18 guns in total... in a local toy shop. They are quite pricy, so I will take my time to collect them... perhaps 1 per week.
The 1st in my collection is of course my favourite gun-type of all... the Sniper Rifle(my favourite is the H&K PSG-1). Both sets offer the same M700... 1 which I already owned and the other is a camouflaged version. Every gun in this Series comes with a gun rack to hold the gun upright, pretty cool ain't it? The scope of this model can be removed and the bolt can be pulled out as well. I neither remove the seamline nor remodelled the rifle as it is a pre-painted toy model... well, details has been quite decent. I only gave the metallic-looking parts a more shiny glossy look and added lens to each side of the scope.

Next week, I should be getting either the M16 or the AK47. So it's only the M700 for now... I took a few pictures of it and they can be viewed in this gallery. Enjoys =)
